SQUASH YUKON
Squash Yukon is the official sports governing body for squash and its players in the Yukon and is mandated to promote the growth and development of the sport.
The Squash Yukon Executive, a volunteer board comprised of seven members, works to develop and implement programs and policies aimed at promoting an environment in which players can enjoy the sport of squash and ensure its continued growth in the Yukon.
Programs
Lessons
A structured lesson program has been developed by Squash Yukon to insure that players taking up the sport have the opportunity to progress through a series of lesson programs that are matched to the players level of skill and competitiveness. Check with the facility’s squash professional to determine what suits you.
See the section on lessons for detailed information.
Leagues
In partnership with a number of generous local businesses, Squash Yukon runs two squash leagues to provide a competitive yet social opportunity for squash players to play in on weekly basis over the winter months. The structure of the league and teams ensures that players of all levels are accommodated.
See the section on leagues for detailed information.
Squash Yukon promotes the participation in squash through the sponsoring or sanctioning of a number of tournaments each year. The aim of this is to provide players with an opportunity to play with both local and visiting players in a friendly but competitive environment. It is hoped that these events help players evaluate their development and introduce players to new opponents.
See the section on tournaments for detailed information.
