Squash Yukon offers a variety of lesson options targeting all levels of play from new players getting on court for the first time, to the high performance athletes working on improving skills and fitness. Lessons can be taken on an individual basis with Squash Pro or Certified coaches.
Early Birds(Age 6-9)
Monday and Wednesday 4:45pm-5:15pm
Beginner players will learn the basic rules, skills and movement patterns with use of specialised equipment while maintaining a focus on fun and fitness throughout the session. Fun squash-based games will be played throughout, and skill challenges will be designed every month to give the juniors a chance to win participation awards. This level’s focus is on fun, and developing hand-eye coordination.
Rising Stars (Age 9-14)
Tuesday & Thursday 4:45pm-5:30pm
This is the next step in squash player development. They will learn the basic rules, skills and movement patterns. Focus on developing game skill and fitness throughout the session. This level’s focus is on learning the basics of squash, and beginning to play full matches.
Super Stars( Age 10-16)
Monday, Wednesday & Friday 4:00pm-4:45pm
Intermediate players will learn all the rules of the game, including refereeing, lets and strokes. There will be a stronger emphasis on tactics and techniques to win matches against their peers. Once junior players reach this level, they are encouraged to participate in the tournaments and league Division 2 to slowly introduce them to competition. This level’s focus is on learning squash strategy to win rallys.
Monster Academy (Age 10-18)
Tuesday & Thursday 4:00pm-4:45pm, Saturday 11:30am-1:00pm.
Juniors participating in this program will be competing in the local and provincial tournaments. Juniors in this program have shown a strong work ethic and enthusiasm for squash. Pease Note: Juniors must be invited to participate in these sessions.
