It is a different format….only 36 participants, so sign up early. Six teams of 6 players…. play 25 minutes straight, using a point-a-rally system, so every point counts!

If you hit the targets, you get 6 points…. etc. etc.

IT IS FUN.

Please help us send some love to the wonderfully active and kind folks at Squash Yukon! We hosted the Annual Christmas Squash Tournament on December 13-14, gathered many food donations, and raised $700 for the Yukon Food Bank!

Thank you so much to everyone who turned out and gave generously at the event! We hope you had a lot of fun while helping to keep food on the tables for Yukon families!

Registration is open for the youth after-school league, which is 15 weeks in the program, from January 10 to April 11.

Program Overview

Objective: Provide a platform for young players to practice skills, develop sportsmanship, and enjoy competitive play in a supportive environment.
Age Group: 10-18 years (grouped by age or skill level).
Location: Better Bodies Squash Court
Duration: 1 hour 45 minutes.

Weekly Format

3:15 PM – 3:30 PM: Check-In & Warm-Up

• Players sign in and receive match schedules.
• Dynamic stretching and light drills (e.g., ghosting or wall rallies).

3:30 PM – 3:50 PM: Skill Drill Sessions

• Conduct quick skill drills focused on improving specific aspects of the game, such as serves, drops, or footwork.
• Pair players by skill level for partner drills.

3:50 PM – 4:50 PM: Match Play

• Round-Robin or Ladder Format:
  • Players compete in short matches (e.g., best of 3 games or timed 10-minute matches).
  • Rotate opponents to ensure diverse matchups.

4:50 PM – 5:00 PM: Fitness and Cool-Down

• Fitness and fun games

League Structure

1. Divisions:
   • Players will be grouped into divisions based on skill or age (e.g., Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced).

Registration is open for set three of the youth program; see below the schedule for 14 weeks of the program, starting from January 6 to April 11

Some group timing may change depending on the number of participants and skill level.

•       Learn to play-(Starter, Age:6-9yrs.) Tues. & Thurs.-4:00 pm (45 Minutes)  $280/pp

•       Learn to Train (Intermediate, Age: 9-14yrs)-Tues. & Thurs.- 4:45 pm (45 minutes) & Friday.-3:15-5:00 pm  (1 hour 45 minutes), $460/pp

•       Learn to Compete (Age:10-19 yrs.) Mon. & Wed. 4:00 pm (60 min.) & Friday.-3:15-5:00 pm  (1 hour 45 minutes), $460/pp

“Squash Yukon has been working with Better Bodies management to assess and resolve the Court 1 floor issue. 

The root cause of the issue (poor drainage along the outside wall of the building adjacent to the court) has been identified, and corrective action has been taken to address the impact on the court floor. 

Squash Yukon programming is resuming on the court as before. 

Squash Yukon would like to thank Better Bodies and Clayton Johnson (Pilot Mt. Contracting) for their work on Court 1.”

To all Squash Yukon members,

It has recently come to the attention of Squash Yukon that the floor of Court 1 is uneven and requires some maintenance. Court 1 is next to the large garage doors. As the courts themselves are the property of Better Bodies, Squash Yukon cannot maintain or repair the courts, so it has brought the issue forward to Better Bodies management and they are looking into what needs to be done. In the meantime, and pending any required corrective measures, Better Bodies has posted a “Use at Own Risk” notice. 

Until the Court 1 maintenance issue is resolved, Squash Yukon will not be booking Court 1 for our programming and recommends that members not book the court for their box ladder matches or other matches due to increased risk of injury. Squash Yukon is communicating regularly with Better Bodies about the issue and will update members with any news.
