Reservoir Tournament                                                                        25 October 2016

This tournament takes place on November 18 and 19. The registration sheet will be available on court three at Better Bodies. First come first serve as there are only 36 spots available.

If you haven’t been involved in this one before, here are a couple things to note:

Format: Six teams of six. All skill ranges represented on each team (organizers determine the teams). Each team will be assigned a colour from the Reservoir Dogs movie, so naturally, colour coordinated outfits are encouraged.

Play: Cups are placed strategically on the courts. Opponents play for 25 minutes continuously and whoever gets the most points (regular squash rules) and by hitting the cups, wins. Points are tallied among the team and the team with the most points, wins. Bonus points for hitting the cups during play.

Entry fee: Two bottles of wine (cannot be home-brewed or non-alcoholic) and $30 for early bird sign-up (up to November 13th at 5pm), $35 for any registration afterwards.

Winners walk away with the wine!

We’ll also have a Lightning Round again during this tournament, so make sure to sign up on the Friday for a chance to win the earnings on Saturday!

And of course, we have our usual awesome beer and pizza on Friday evening, with a social at Earls after the games on Saturday evening.

2016/17 Squash Yukon League                                                       1 September 2016

The 2016-2017 squash season is once again upon us and Squash Yukon is excited to provide Squash League.

Squash Yukon Leagues will run from October 25/27th 2016 through to May 2017 with Tuesday (Division 1) and Thursday (Division 2) night play. At the end of season play a league championship will take place to crown two Yukon champion teams. As in past years, there will be seven teams competing in each league with four or five players on each team. Play will take place at Better Bodies between 7pm and 9:30pm. The cost of eight months of play will be $140.

Squash Yukon will be organizing Box Ladder play for League participants through September. This will help us to better place players on teams, and to help players get out on the courts for the beginning of the season.

Please email squashyukon.league@gmail.com before September 2nd, 2016 to ensure we are able to organize our Box Ladder through the time leading up to League start of October 25/27th. There will also be sign-up sheets at the courts.

Lastly, Squash Yukon is always looking for new local businesses to sponsor a team.If you know of anyone who may be interested please let us know, and we will be able to send them additional information.
