This year, we are giving league a “refresh” with some new approaches designed to improve the team and social aspects that makes this part of our programming special
As in the past, there will be 7 teams in each of the Tuesday and Thursday night leagues. 6 teams will play per week, with 1 team having a “bye”.
Teams will have 5 players, one of which will be designated as team captain
Each week, positions 1 through 4 will play. The team captain will oversee coordinating who is playing what position, for their team, in any given week.
All 6 teams will be playing at the same time: 2 on Court 1, 2 on Court 2, and 2 on Court 3, until all matches are done. For example:
o Team A vs. Team B on Court 1, playing positions 1 through 4
o Team C vs. Team D on Court 2, playing positions 1 through 4
o Team E vs. Team F on Court 3, playing positions 1 through 4
League matches will start at 6 pm, and we anticipate it should be completed by 8 pm. The hope/expectation is that by being part of your league team, you show up from 6-8 to help coach, ref, and support your teammates
The league is instrumental in fostering competitive play at all playing ability levels and allowing people to meet new playing partners.
League starts: Division 1 (October 7-Tuesday), Division 2 (October 9-Thursday).
Squash Yukon is offering members a month of free ladder challenge/Leaguetryout starting September 1st, 2025.
How it works!
Players are divided into divisions of 5/6 players, and each player has to play their other opponent over a period of one calendar month.
Scoring
Matches are the best of 5 games. Point a rally (PAR) scoring to 11 points per game, and players have to win by 2 clear points at 10-all. Box league points are awarded as follows
• 1 point per game won.
• 1 point per match won
• 1 point per match played.
• 1 point for playing all matches.
• Zero points for matches not played, regardless of reasons.

Welcome to our new squash ladder set for 2025.
A Box Ladder has five players in each box, and each player has one month to play their matches. Within that month, each player plays the other four players in their box. At the end of the month, the scores are tallied, and the top two players move up to a box while the bottom two players move down a box.
It is a great way to find new squash-playing partners, play at least four matches per month, and play your matches at your convenience. All levels of play are welcome, and it’s fun.
If you need further information about any of the above or are new and wish to join the ladder, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I will assist you as best I can.
The court booking fee of $60 covers the cost. When booking your match, it’s important to mention that it is for a box ladder.
