New Squash Coach – Gyanendra Singh

Squash Yukon is pleased to announce that Gyanendra Singh has just begun as a squash coach in Whitehorse.  This is the first full-time coach that has been hired in 3 years, and signals Squash Yukon’s goal to reinvigorate the sport of squash in the Yukon.

Gyanendra Singh has a great passion for the sport of squash.  He has a Masters in Physical

Education and Sports Sciences, with a specialization in sports biomechanics.  Gyanendra has been playing squash for more than 20 years, including competitively at the national level in India.  He has more than 10 years of coaching experience in India and Kuwait, and is certified with the World Squash Federation and Asian Squash Federation. He arrived in the territory from Delhi, India and has completed his self-isolation.

Squash Yukon is looking to grow interest and participation in squash in Yukon at all levels and ages, and developing the skills of players.

Stay tuned for program offerings such as clinics, private and semi-private coaching, outreach to schools and communities when possible, and the growth of a more extensive junior program, both competitive and non-competitive.  He will also be coordinating Tuesday and Thursday leagues, and once possible, tournaments.  Gyanendra will be sourcing squash equipment for sale, and plans to provide racquet stringing services.

Gyanendra is very excited to be in Yukon, and is very interested in getting to know new people and explore the outdoors.
